I met Charlie and Doris at the birthday parties of their grand daughters, April and Lindsay. What a wonderful and fun couple.
Charlie, Doris, Gary, Amy, Fred and I (and our kids, April, Lindsay, Patrick and our dogs) caravan to the U.P. For a week we camped and trekked thru the wilderness of the back roads and two tracks. Whether camping in the U.P. or up to the "River" , what great memories.
Charlie was the consummate story teller. Around the campfire with a rum and Coke in hand, he would share the exploits of his youth and his time in the National Guard.
Charlie, you will be missed.
