May the extended families of the Hesseldahls and Van Loozenoords take comfort knowing that "Great" Uncle Chuck lived a full life and treated others with great kindness.
Chuck and my father Bill Cummens worked on many projects at the ‘brand new” North Shore Water Commission plant in Glendale WI, circa 1960’s. I then continued working with Chuck (and his pipe!) until his retirement and relocation to MI. Chuck was always a “hands-on” guy and thirsted to learn about the pumping equipment that powered his plant. Chuck and Barb were always gracious and kind to all they met. Condolences and blessings to his family.

My Uncle Chuck! He was always a guy to look up too, especially because he was five inches taller than me. 😀. We lived side by side in the Bluffton, Cherry street duplex, until Chuck grew up and left home. He used to take me with him on hikes on Pigeon Hill, and when I was in High School, I’d meet him at the Muskegon water filtration plant some evenings and walk rounds and test water with him. My last Uncle. RIP Uncle Chuck. 😢
I met Chuck last summer when I started taking care of his garden. He was always so welcoming often with offering me a cup of coffee with some hazelnut creamer that I would tease him about. We always had really nice conversations and he was always happy to tell me about his life and his family. He grew up in Bluffton where I have been living so we also had that connection. He was a wonderful person always quick with a smile! My heart goes out to his family.
My prayers go out to Chuck's family. I was a neighbor and he and I would often chat across the fence. He was a really sweet man and I will miss him a lot.
