Charles "Chuck" Hasseldahl's Obituary
Mr. Charles “Chuck” Hasseldahl, age 87, of Spring Lake, MI and formerly of Glendale, WI passed away Monday, January 30, 2023, at home. He was born July 29, 1935, in Muskegon to Albert and Nellie (Van Loozenoord) Hasseldahl.
Chuck was a member of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod since 1960 and a current member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Grand Haven, where he served as an elder, a trustee, and was also a long-time choir member. He worked for 26 years providing safe drinking water to communities in Wisconsin. He was an active member of the American Water Works Association and was a Leon A. Smith Award winner. Chuck loved to fish, sail and travel, but most of all he loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren
He is survived by three children: Gregory (Cynthia) Hasseldahl, Amy (Peter) Theron, and Lynn Hasseldahl; four grandchildren: Kevin (Jill) Hasseldahl, David (Lisa) Hasseldahl, Rebecca Detert, and Samantha Detert, and six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lucy (Ted) Maxson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 46 years, Barbara Ann Weick and his second wife, Barbara Anne Horsley; sisters, Alyce (Edward) Lemke and Audrey (John) Reberg.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 25, 2023, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Grand Haven. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will take place this spring at Lakeside Cemetery in Muskegon. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church Music Fund, or St. John’s Lutheran School Music Education Fund.
