Mr. Charles L. “Charlie” Basch, age 75, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010 at his home. He was born on July 9, 1935 to Bernard and Martha (Roumpz) Basch, and resided in the area all of his life. Charlie was a Veteran of the U.S. Arm Read Obituary
Charlie was just the greatest. I had looked forward to working with him every day at Harbor. He had the best qualities. Charlie knew how to treat people, he was straightforward,fair, and had an awesome sense of humor. I am going to miss my friend.##imported-begin##Robert Atkinson##imported-end##
Dear Char, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you lady. He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, friend ect. he was a awsome person Char and he loved you so much. And you could see that all over his face. At least he isn't suffering anymore and I no that doesn't make it any easier to handle. You are in my thoughts and prayers. And I am sorry I missed the funeral, I was planning on going put I had rehab that day and my foot was so sore and I couldn't get a shoe on. But just no Char I love you and your family. Char,Chuckie,Brent and all of the Basch family. Chuck was truly a great person. Coffee will never be the same down @ #2. From him walking in in the morning and wanting to know what was going on to stealing my goodies with coffee in the afternoon. Wanting to know if the Tigers "beat" or calling him a boy and hearing "where have you ever seen a boy with a 10" and so goes the rest of that saying. To all of the stories from back when he unloaded steel with my father inlaw, the baseball games for the kids and grandkids, the trips to Detroit to visit with Brent and his family,MIS, how much he loved and worried about his Char and so many others. Chuck really loved and was proud of his family. He will be missed by many but never forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was so sadden to here about your Dad passing away. I feel extremely bad but I will not be able to make it to the funeral services to show my respect to you and your family in person.
But you are not alone today nor will you be tomorrow for warmest thoughts of those who care are with you in your sorrow and may it comfort you to know your loved ones are thought of too by everyone who shares the loss of one so dear to you

I was devistated to hear the passing of a great person. I have fond memories of Charlie. When I first started pulling duty at Station 2 I could count on Charlie being there right at 9 for his coffee. He would always leave by saying "im a busy person....got things to do." I know Charlie is looking down on all of us...keeping all of his family and fellow Firefighters safe.
