Christine Louise Neis' Obituary
Christine Louise Neis, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 after struggling with early onset Alzheimer’s for over a decade. Born Christine Kennedy, she graduated in 1964 from Muskegon High School and went on to Hackley Hospital School of Radiologic Technology. She worked for Radiology Muskegon PC and later the Hackley Cancer Center where she retired after nearly 30 years. She joined the Muskegon Chamber Choir in its second season and was a proud member for over 50 years. In addition to singing, Chris loved the symphony, dogs, travel and hiking, especially in the state park near her home. Chris accepted Jesus Christ at a young age and lived life to the best of her ability in accordance with His way. She was an encourager, devoted to family and known for her positive, upbeat attitude. She spent countless hours fielding calls from hurting people who knew that although she couldn’t solve their problems, she’d make them feel better. In 1968 Chris married Robert Neis who survives her along with their daughters, Sarah Neis of Chicago and Brenda (Jim) Freed of Muskegon; grandchildren, Ava and Austin; siblings, Ann Huizenga of Chicago, Robert (Lois) Huizenga of Muskegon and Steve (Paula) Huizenga of Zeeland. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 9, 2020 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Dr. William Rudd officiating. VISITATION will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday and one hour prior to her service Thursday. Burial will be in Laketon Township Cemetery.
