He was such a sweet man. And will be missed.
The most honest and fairest human being I've ever known has gone on to something better.
His impact on my life was huge. In so many ways, like a second father figure.
I can remember so many little things, like him fixing my baseball mitt when I about 7 and starting little league and building the engine on my first car when I was 19 and in the service and even the butt chewing he gave me for drinking a beer the day before my grandfathers funeral. He said it was disrespectful and not to do it. I was 22 at the time but still listened to him.
I'll always remember the great times we shared, whether in the drive way at 2885 Valk St. when he was working on a car or a time at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway together when it was so cold we had to use trash bags to keep from freezing to death and not see any cars run that day or when we sat in the paddock penthouse for a race like a bunch of high rollers. LOL!! We all know how he loves that place.
There are so many memories of great times and funny stories that I'll never forget and always remember with fondness and love for my uncle.
So to him I say, Thank you for the support, encouragement, guidance, and so many of life's lessons that I learned from you and many times you didn't even know I was watching. I'll never forget you! Rest in peace until I see you again. Love you.
