Clayton C. Hansen's Obituary
Mr. Clayton C. Hansen, age 87, died early Thursday morning, February 8, 2007 at the Poppen Residence. He was born October 1, 1919 in rural Kent Co. near Trufant to Warner and Elsie (Medler) Hansen. Mr. Hansen graduated from Trufant High School and moved shortly thereafter to Muskegon. He was drafted into the Army during WWII and served in Europe for several years. On February 16, 1946 he married the former Beulah Hansen and she preceded him in death in 1987. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Russell. Mr. Hansen is survived by his 3 daughters and their husbands: Nancy (Larry) Medema, Susan (Paul) Griffith, and Cindy (Eddie) Pizunski; 5 grandchildren: Lori (Eric) Schimmelmann, Aaron (fiancée, Jen DeMull) and Alicia Griffith, and Micheal and William Pizunski; and by 2 great-grandchildren: Emily and Joey Schimmelmann. Clayton was a self-employed painter his whole life. He attended Central Lutheran Church and later joined St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Danish Brotherhood, and the Grand Haven Eagles. As his wish, he was cremated and his ashes will be interred with those of his wife at Evergreen Mausoleum. There will be a memorial service held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 17, 2007 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Sarah Samuelson officiating and Military Rites under the auspices of the Muskegon County Council of Veterans.
