We like to extend our warm sympathy with the passing of your beloved Cornelius "Casey" DeGroot. We are relatives from the Netherlands. My father Aryan de Boer was a full cousin of Cornie. We first met him in 1996 when we were looking for relatives on my grandmothers side. She was Cathrien de Groot from Medemblik and a sister of Cornelis de Groot who migrated to the USA in 1906.
We were impressed by the story Casey told us about his life. Through him we got to meet the special nephews John and Ryndert and we still have close contact with these brothers.
Later on we visited Casey (and Teddy) several times in his wooden house in Muskegon and those visits were always memorable. Last time was in 2006.
We will remember Casey with very warm feelings.
