Daniel J. Grinwis, age 73, ran into the arms of his Lord, Jesus, on December 11, 2024. He was born in Muskegon, MI to Donald Grinwis and Jean (Timmer) Grinwis on September 27, 1951. He attended West Michigan Christian schools and Read Obituary
Dan was a very good man. I worked with him on several things, and he was always such a pleasure to work with. I also enjoyed his quick, dry sense of humor. I hope his family can find comfort in good memories. May he rest in peace. I will miss him.
Uncle Dan made a lasting impact in my life, and I loved him very much. ❤️
So glad to have seen Dan at our reunion in August. Dan and I sang together in chapel all of high school since we sat alphabetically. Gordon and Grinwis. Our mothers worked together so I heard many tales about him and his sister Joni. I read his book and got to reminisce about the area we grew up in, even though he didn’t give the places names I recognized them from growing up there. My sympathy to your family but know we will meet again. May you rest in peace I the arms of Jesus, Dan.
I worked closely with Dan for 5 years after he became a board member. We navigated numerous challenges and completed many projects together .
He always had great perspective and kept an open mind. Dan was a wonderful neighbor and I enjoyed getting to know him

The adventures were many as were the smiles. I am so grateful to have known him and had him as part of my life.
There are so many memories. The memory that I always cherish above all is the years we walked the intercity streets of Grand Rapids West side, loving on, praying for, and living Jesus to so many who were lost.
We reminisced about one event just last month: Dan and I walking by people sitting on their front porches drinking and giving them a free pizza card to go along with the beer. They were blown away that church people didn’t condemn them. There are so many more…
I met Dan (when I started dating Joe Simon) before any of the Simon family. Long story short, we had to pick up a Quanset hut in Interlochen. We then went into Traverse City, had lunch and went to Fish town after stopping at a couple of bars. We had the best day ever!!! My first thought as we continued home was "If the rest of the family was as great as Dan, I would be a lucky girl". And they all were and I was truly blessed!!!
