My dad was my best friend. We used to talk about everything, and those conversations are some of the pieces of him I hold closest. I’m grateful he’s no longer in pain, but God, I miss the hell out of him. Grief is strange—full of love, full of ache—but I’m carrying him with me every day.
I worked with Dan many years at VanWagoner and Hickory St as well. His sense of humor and great work ethics helped make the work day more enjoyable. Rest in peace Dan.

I was a hilo driver on third having a terrible day dropped a rack of pin racks and Dan and buddy Mort came to help with kind words I’ll never forget Dan nor Mort they were work buds and both were so kind to me… rest easy Dan you’ll be missed
We worked together.
We didn’t JUST work together, we talked. We listened to each other. We shared our days together. We laughed (probably more than we should have). We talked seriously. We helped each other. We made fun of each other. We were friends. We were growing older together….just not old enough….
