Mr. Daryl L. Card's Obituary
Daryl L. Card, age 62, passed away in his home, surrounded by his family on March 16, 2017. He was born July 23, 1954 to Orlen and Mildred (Osbun) Card in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. Daryl was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the VFW Derezinski Post #7729, and had been the commander at the American Legion Post 185. He had been employed at Teledyne Continental Motors and supported his wife’s Auto Body and Supply business. He loved to tinker with projects in his garage, fixing golf carts, bringing his ice cream machine to Pioneer Park, and going fishing at Drummond Island. Daryl was preceded in death by his wife Debra on May 3, 2016. Survivors include 4 children, Beckie (Tim) Wilburn, Amy (Chris) Carroll, Brooke (Mark) Jozsa, Michael (Francine) Rhanor; 10 grandchildren, Danielle, Samantha, Austin, KaytLynn, Madison, Brayden, Ethan, Kaelinn, Evan and Easton; 4 great-grandchildren, K’Lah, Germyah, Makyah and Paisley; 1 brother, Gary (Marcia) Card; 2 sisters, Gloria Verschueren and Denee Card. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Clifford Verschueren. A gathering to celebrate Daryl’s life will begin at 12:00 noon Wednesday, March 22, at the Derezinski VFW Post #7729, 6285 E. Apple Ave., with a service and time of sharing starting at 1:00 PM, with a luncheon following. Burial will take place at Egelston Township Cemetery at 4:00 PM, also on Wednesday.
