Mr. David Edward Bernath's Obituary
Mr. David Edward Bernath, age 46, passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 28, 2013 in Muskegon, MI. He was born on April 17, 1967 in Royal Oak, MI to Roy and Dorothy (Tepatti) Bernath. David resided at the Benston Home in Whitehall, MI. He worked at Goodwill for 20 years and was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. David enjoyed painting and was an accomplished painter. He loved going to the beach, bowling, going to the library and church. He made everyone smile because of his own big smile and always wanted to please others. He touched the lives of many and was a true inspiration for others with disabilities. David is survived by his loving mother, Dorothy Bernath; one brother, Greg (Jennifer) Bernath; two sisters, Pat (Randy) Burean and Jan (Steve) Pierce and numerous nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his father, Roy Bernath. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 12:00 PM Saturday, November 2, 2013 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Marian Chapel with Rev. Fr. Philip P. Salmonowicz presiding. VISITATION will be from 4-7 PM Friday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with the ROSARY prayed at 4:00 PM. Burial will take place in White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy, MI. In lieu of flowers, MEMORIALS in memory of David may be made to the MOKA Building Fund a non-profit organization that serves individuals with disabilities in western Michigan. David’s family would like to thank all the staff at Benston Home for their loving care of David over the past 2 ½ years.
