David Victor Hinze's Obituary
David Victor Hinze, 76, of Twin Lake, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2025, strengthened by his Christian faith and surrounded with love.
Born in Elmhurst, Illinois, in 1949 to Victor and Marjorie (Lewis) Hinze, David spent his childhood visiting Pentwater, Michigan, with family and friends, a place he would forever cherish. He attended Lincoln College and Western Michigan University and proudly served in the Army National Guard before beginning his career as a certified public accountant in Wheaton, Illinois.
In 1981, David and his family relocated to West Michigan, where he continued his work as an accountant and later served as CFO for several local businesses until his retirement in 2018. David also volunteered his time in service of charitable organizations including his church and Muskegon Pregnancy Services. He will be remembered fondly for his dedication to his family and community and for his witty humor, which consistently brought laughter to those around him.
David was preceded in death by his father and mother, Victor and Marjorie; his brother, Philip; and his grandson, Gabriel. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Priscilla (Belonga) Hinze; his sister, Mary (Hinze) Ulrich; and his four children: Jeanine (David) Hegg, Kimberly (Mark) Wiersema, Paul (Lisa) Hinze, and Scott (Katie) Hinze. He was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren: Ethan, Andrew, Elise, Matthew, Aaron, Zachary, Nathaniel, Benjamin, Lara, Ian, and Jonas and a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews. David was also deeply cherished by a circle of close friends who shared many years of laughter and companionship.
