Laurie Braker
I was the flower girl for Aunt Debbie and Uncle Bill’s wedding (along with my cousin Pam). I remember feeling so special that Aunt Debbie chose me for such an important job and that she let me have my hair curled with a curling iron for the first time. About a year later, we visited them up in Houghton and Aunt Debbie sat down with me and taught me how to play solitaire. She was very patient with me and I remember feeling very special and grown up that she took time to spend with me. I always loved to spend time with Aunt Debbie. She had a loving heart stuck in a body that did not work for her, and she still found joy in her family.
