Aunt Dody was often like a 5th member of our family as she joined us on family vacations and unselfishly gave up many of her Saturday afternoons to take Jane and I on special outings. Aunt Dody blessed our lives and was a wonderful role model and Christian example. She was a care giver, loving, patient, and very hard working. We will treasure our many special memories of times spent together in what Aunt Dody described a lot over the past few weeks as a "very good life". We thank God for the gift of Aunt Dody and the assurance that she is now in Heaven and we will one day be with her again. We wish we could be with family members, her friends and co-workers as you celebrate the very very special life of Delores Veeneman on Friday. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. I am thankful for the many special memories of times with Aunt Dody. Especially childhood memories when she joined Mom, Dad, Ginny and I, as we went on vacations; for times spent with her at the beach; and riding in the two-tone green Chevy. Aunt Dody was loving, generous, and patient. I can’t really ever remember her being unkind or angry, although she had every right to be with a strong-willed niece who ran away from her near the N. Muskegon Blockhouse. These last days spent with her were special too. Although her body was failing, we were able to reminisce and also share the hope and peace she had in knowing Jesus and that she would be going to a better place.
We are sorry that we can’t be with the family as you gather on Friday. We hope that you will be comforted by your memories of a wonderful sister and aunt. We pray that you have that peace and assurance in knowing that you will see her again in Heaven.
