Delores H. Veeneman's Obituary
Delores H. Veeneman, age 89, passed away peacefully October 31, 2011, at the home of her sister and brother-in-law in Fruitport, MI, whom she had been living with the past five years. She will be celebrating her 90th birthday in her new heavenly home surrounded by her parents, a brother and a sister and several brothers-in-law that preceded her in death. She would have been 90 years old Sunday, November 6. Delores was born in Muskegon Heights, MI to John J. and Bessie (Bowen) Veeneman, the fourth of six children. She graduated in 1940 from Muskegon Heights High School and started working at Sealed Power Corporation in 1941, where she retired from in 1984, after working there for 43 years as an inspector. Delores was a member of Westwood Reformed Church in Roosevelt Park. She enjoyed making beautiful jewelry and loved to sew, making beautiful clothing for all her nieces as they were growing up. Taking care of all the nieces and nephews was her great joy in life, as well as her love of animals. Delores is survived by sisters, Geraldine Sullivan, of Fremont, MI, Donna Holstine of Roosevelt Park, JoAnn (Kenneth) Osborn of Fruitport; sister-in-law, Mary (Dutmer) Veeneman of Huntsville, AL; many close nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Gail Zuidema of Muskegon; brother, John G. Veeneman of Huntsville, AL; three special brothers-in-law, Ryan Zuidema, Eugene Sullivan and Roland Holstine all of Muskegon. The FUNERAL SERVICE for Delores will be at the Lee Chapel, Friday, November 4, 2011 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Scott VanArendonk officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the funeral service. She will be laid to rest in Mona View Cemetery.
