Deloris P. "Pat" Sweet's Obituary
Mrs. Deloris P. “Pat” Sweet, age 77, passed away early Friday morning, February 20, 2009 at her home surrounded by family. She was born May 7, 1931 in Levering, MI to Neil and Rhoda (Spears) McAuley. Pat retired from Misco/Howmet, was a member of the VFW Post #446 Auxiliary, and had been the past president for the Marine Corp League Auxiliary Muskegon Chapter. She had also been the past president of the Muskegon Toys for Tots, volunteered at the Veteran’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, and was awarded the Marine of the Year by the Marine Corp League for her dedicated service. Pat was a wonderful mother and home maker, and enjoyed gardening. On June 16, 1949 she married Richard E. “Dick” Sweet, Jr. and he survives her along with 2 sons, Neil R. Sweet, Ronald L. (Jan) Sweet both of Muskegon; daughter, Dena M. Sweet of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren, Eric Sweet, Andrea (Jason) Wiersing, Autumn (Joe and kids) Sweet all of the Flint area, Neil R. Sweet II, Traci (Jeff) Schuitema, Nicholas Sweet all of Muskegon; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Fritz (Don) Schiele; sister-in-law, Doris McAuley; many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Patrick W. and Valerie Sweet and by her brother, Gerald McAuley. According to her wishes, there will be no services. Inurnment will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. For those family and friends wishing to express their sympathies and condolences to Mr. Sweet, please feel free to visit him at his home.
