Dena Bolt's Obituary
Dena Bolt, age 98, of Fruitport, MI, passed away October 17, 2020. She was born May 26, 1922 in Wheatland, North Dakota to Henry and Matie (Aanen) Verhoek. Dena left South Dakota in 1940 and came to Michigan where she met her husband and started her family. She attended Bethel Baptist, Black Lake Baptist, and Faith Baptist Church. She will be missed by many friends and family and was truly an inspiration to all who knew her. Dena is survived by her three children: Jay (Carolyn) Bolt of Fruitport, Roger Bolt of Grand Rapids, and Coral Wenell of Fruitport; grandchildren: Rick (Jill) Bolt, Brian (Sally) Bolt, Scott Wenell, Andrea Bolt, and Theresa (Jason) Braun; ten great-grandchildren; and many relatives in Marion and McBain, MI, South Dakota, and Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Bolt in 1988; one grandson, Frederick James Wenell; son-in-law, Fred Wenell; and all nine of her siblings. A Celebration of Dena’s Life will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 4, 2021 at Black Lake Baptist Church (842 E. Pontaluna Rd., Norton Shores, MI 49444) . Burial took place in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Grand Rapids. MEMORIALS to the Harbor Hospice Foundation will be appreciated.
