Dena Marie Jansen -(Yee)'s Obituary
Dena Marie Jansen-(Yee), age 58, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018. She was born on January 25, 1960 to Robert and Bernadine (Grifka) Jansen in Detroit, MI. She was raised by her parents in a devout Polish Catholic home in Madison Heights with her younger sister, Patty (Wenzler), and a loving paternal grandmother, Eleanor Jansen. She graduated from Bishop Foley High School in 1977 and went on to graduate from the University of Michigan with a BA in Arts and Literature, and an MA in clinical psychology from Central Michigan where she met her husband of 30 years, Chris. Dena worked as a limited licensed psychologist and partner of Chris Jansen-Yee, PsyD & Associates, PC. But her primary passion was being a mother and raising her three children; Jacob, Noah, and Hannah. She is survived by her children, Jacob Kawela (Jansen-Yee) Grayson (wife, Bethany), Noah Cheong Kai Jansen-Yee, Hannah Eleanor Jansen-Yee; and her sister, Patricia (Jansen) Wenzler. She is loved by many life-long friends; Claire Parsons, Robin Barris, Judy Mead, Carol Van Bemmelen and many others. A MEMORIAL GATHERING for Dena will take place at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 from 3-5 PM on Saturday May 12, 2018, Mother’s Day weekend.
