I graduated with Jeff at Fruitport, great guy, I was shocked to hear of his passing, may his family and friends find comfort in the memory of a great guy.##imported-begin##Gregory Ritter##imported-end##
I was also a graduate of Fruitport (1978). Jeff was in many of my classes and while we weren't close friends he was always kind, fun, and great to work with on projects. My condolences to each of you and especially to his daughter.##imported-begin##Brenda (Heykoop) Clark##imported-end##
From a friendship that started at Ferris State over 25 years ago and continued up to the present, Jeff was someone special that will leave a lasting impression. The memories are all great and I will miss my good friend dearly.
My deepest sympathies to all of the family.

I met Jeff at Mona Shores Baptist Church not long after I became a Christian. He was a quiet, yet kind person. We all liked Jeff and knew that he would go on to become a success in his life. However, I feel a deep sense of loss that he died so soon. But take comfort in knowing that the Lord knows our life, our ways and His purpose for us all. And I know Jeff is in God's loving hands, in a better place, rejoycing with the angels and waiting to see us someday in Heaven.##imported-begin##Joe Saari##imported-end##
I was sadden by the news that Jeff died. I went to High School with him and he seemed to always have a smirk on his face like he was up to something. He was a pretty nice guy and I know what it's like to lose someone close to you as I lost my brother in a car accident in 1998 and I still have an emptiness in my heart. You'll all be in my prayers.##imported-begin##Sharolyn Lutz (Smith)##imported-end##
I was saddened to hear of Jeff's passing. I was a baseball and football teammate of Jeff's at Fruitport High School, and graduated in the same class of 1978. Jeff was always fun to be around. I remember how we would greet each other as we might see each other around campus or around town by saying "...Jeff, is that youuuuu." It has been many years since I have talked to Jeff, but I will not forget the fine person that he was. May God's love comfort your family and friends.##imported-begin##Doug Wall##imported-end##
I've known Jeff for 24 years as a fraternity brother, tax counselor and a friend. Since graduation from Ferris, I saw Jeff at a few social functions, but the last 17 years were special as we golfed and stayed active in a fraternity fantasy football league. We played golf together every fall.
In the early years it was all about the fantasy football championship, the last few years it was more about friendships, a chance to relax and play golf and talk among close friends.
I'll miss his phone calls and e-mails. Jeff didn't have a reason to call, because he just liked to say hello. Jeff would ask me how my work was going, how my family was doing, how my brother Tom was doing and then try to make some plans to get together. Jeff talked alot about his daughter Mya, I know he liked being a father.
Jeff listened, talked with care and empathy, and loved to laugh.
Jeff was a good friend, a good dad, and great fraternity brother.

Jeff will be greatly missed. I have known him for close to 25 years starting at Ferris State University with Delta Sigma Pi. When he lived in Dearborn and I was living in Southfield, we did a lot together. We did ballgames, Chicago trips, eating at White Castle at 3:00 a.m., sitting around just talking, and even a trip to my parents house up north so that he could scuba dive the great shipwrecks of Lake Huron.
Michelle and I were privileged to have him be in my wedding party 10 years ago. There were times where we had not talked for many months. Then when we did talk, it was just like yesterday. He always had time available to listen to you.
He had an assurance to him that will be sadly missed. He was a true friend and fraternity brother.
