Dewey Bringedahl Sr.'s Obituary
Dewey Bringedahl Sr., age 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2024, in Muskegon, MI. He was born June 9, 1940, in Muskegon, MI to Theodore and Gladys (Shriver) Bringedahl. Dewey graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1958 and then attended Ferris Institute of Pharmacy to become a Pharmacist, graduating in 1963. On August 27, 1960, Dewey married the love of his life, Martha Dinger, and they were able to spend 64 precious years together.
Dewey was a Pharmacist for over 42 years, working for Town & Country, Simpsons and then becoming the owner of Lakeside Pharmacy. He eventually sold the business and worked for Walgreens for 18 years, right up to his retirement in 2005. He was proud of his Norwegian ancestry and was a Past Grand Chief of the Independent Order Vikings, Past Chief of the Linne Lodge #57, and a lifetime member of the Sons of Norway. He also was a member of the Eagles and Lakeside Veterans Club. Dewey enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and camping. He was also an avid Lion’s fan and was hoping to see them win the Superbowl before he passed. Dewey was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family and special friends.
Dewey is survived by his wife, Martha; children, Dewey (Catherine) Bringedahl Jr. and Tonja (Jeffery) Zuidema; grandchildren, Ryan and Jacob Bringedahl, Zachary, (Alicia) Boehs and Samantha (Erik DuBois) Boehs, Elizabeth and Daniel Harwood, Vincent (Annette) Zuidema and Alexandrea Zuidema; great-grandchildren, Emma Harwood; Owen and Aurora Zuidema; brothers, William (Jean) Bringedahl, Allen (Bonnie) Bringedahl, and Steven (Judy) Bringedahl; sister, Linda (Max) Borgeson; sister-in-law, Dorly Bringedahl; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Paulene (Richard) Poort; and brothers, Jack, Theodore, Thomas, David, Robert, and Joseph Bringedahl.
A Memorial Service will take place at 11am on Monday, November 18, 2024, at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441) with Visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Luncheon to follow at the Viking Lodge.
