Dezaree Renee “Dez” Marcum, age 43, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026 at Trinity Health – Muskegon Hospital. She was born July 12, 1982 in Marion, OH to Barry K. and Michelle A. (Bridges) Thomas and lived between Muskegon and Marion most of her life. Dez was currently pursuing her college degree. She had attended and received all of her sacraments at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Survivors include her 3 children, Brandon Marcum, Bralynn Marcum, Briar Marcum; her mother, Michelle Fodrocy; 1 sister, Misty (Matthew) Fairris; 1 brother, Jason Throckmorton; her grandmother, Nora Bridges; 1 aunt, Susan (James) George; 2 uncles, Walter Bridges, Mark (Teresa) Bridges; special cousin, Johnny Thomas; and the father of her children, Brandon Marcum. She was preceded in death by her father, Barry Thomas; 1 sister, Samantha Brown; her grandfather, Walter Bridges; and 1 aunt, Tamara Pennington. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 Friday, March 13, 2026 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1110 Dykstra Road, Muskegon, MI 49445, with Rev. Fr. Godfrey Onyekwere presiding. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Entombment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
