Dolores M. Boucher's Obituary
Mrs. Dolores (La) (Chandonnet) Boucher, age 93, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 31, 2009 in Muskegon. She was born in Muskegon on February 13, 1916 to John and Flora (Langlois) Chandonnet, and lived almost all of her life in this area. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and the Ladies Altar Society. She had worked on the children’s school lunch program for many years as a cook and server, worked as a caterer at weddings and parties, and also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. On June 5, 1937 she married Alvin Boucher, and he preceded her in death on June 25, 2005. SURVIVORS include 2 daughters, Charmaine Boucher of CA, Michelle (Chuck) Fialek of Newaygo; 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews, and friends; her brother, Victor (Beverly) Chandonnet of Twin Lake; her sister, Virginia “Ginny” Ashcraft of Muskegon; sisters-in-law, Lillian Chandonnet, Glenna Mae Lennox, Bea Boucher, and Millie Boucher. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Thomas Boucher; brothers, Charles, Raymond, George, Phillip, Clarence “Barney”, and Lawrence Chandonnet; sisters, Rita Demarse, Bertha Sandburg and Louise Busch. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Brown presiding. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565 will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday, and 1 hour prior to the service at church.
