Don was a kind and gracious man. He was the first to welcome me and my girls when we came to Olivet Church. The bus ministry, his desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and how his face lit up when he greeted us are things I will remember. Sympathy to all of you but you hit the jackpot to get him for a dad and grandpa.

My thoughts are with all the Thorsen family, especially Patty, Peggy and Peter during this time of loss. When living in "Pinchtown", Patty and I were in kindergarten together and that is when I met the rest of the Thorsen family, Peggy, Peter, Paul, Don and Fran. When I went to the Thorsen house, Mr. Thorsen would tease me and change my name around and call me "Leroy". I never will forget that. Had good times and have great memories of the Don and the whole family.

We were so surprised to meet up with you Peter, Patty, Peggy in the parking lot of Walburns. We are so very thankful for all of the years of knowing your dad and mom on Estes Street. Your dad was the first to welcome us by helping Mike get our furniture into our newly purchased house. That began a beautiful friendship with them and thus getting to know you all. Our children loved you all and Colin practically lived down there. We were always so grateful for all you poured into his life and your dad was such a spiritual mentor to all of us. You took such loving care of your dad after your mom passed. After we saw you and came home from our meetings with the staff there, I envisioned your dad waiting up for Colin and slipping his arm through Colin's as they walked into the presence of God, whom they both loved and who welcomed them home.

Don lived on Estes St across from my parents. He often helped clear snow from my Dad’s sidewalk and helped him with many different projects. Don was a pleasant man & easy to talk to.
