Donald E. Thorsen's Obituary
Mr. Donald Eugene Thorsen, age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 11, 2021 in Muskegon. He was born on October 14, 1929 to Peter and Bertha (Jorgesen) Thorsen in Muskegon. A lifelong resident of the area, Don married the former Frances Strah on May 10, 1952 and she preceded him in death on April 13, 2007. Don proudly served his nation while in the United States Navy. He was a member of Olivet Evangelical Church and enjoyed trying his luck at scratch off lottery tickets. He had a generous and giving heart and was known for his great sense of humor. Most importantly, he loved the time spent with his family and will be remembered by his children, Patty (Kurt) Seifert, Peggy (Jim) Straley and Peter (Jackie) Thorsen; daughter-in-law, Sheila Thorsen; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his son, Paul Thorsen; parents; three brothers and four sisters. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held.
