I received word today of Aunt Dode's passing. What a wonderful life she lived. You are so very lucky to have so many years of memories to cherish. She was my favorite and my memories of our family gatherings at Great Grandma and Grandpa Bottema's and later Aunt Ida's are fond ones. Her calming voice was always such a contrast to Uncle Manna's booming one when we kids got in trouble! They will both be in by heart forever.
Dave and Jane, we were both so sorry to hear of the passing of Dave's Mom. There is never a good time to say goodbye to our parents, no matter their age or circumstance. We know she lived a long and wonderful life, how lucky she was to have two fine sons and daughters in law to see to her every need. She must be having a joyous and long awaited reunion with her sweetheart. We hope that thought will ease the hurt of missing her sweet and loving presence. Doris was a very nice lady. I always liked her when we worked together at Achterhoff funeral home. She was always nice to talk to. She will be missed.
