Karen Knowles
This is a picture from November 8, 2024. It was our last road trip. All three of us knew it, but we didn’t speak it, out loud. Doris, Karen K (me), and Karen M, jumped in my car and away we went. We didn’t really have an exact destination, but we headed east to find Hardy Dam. As we traveled through Fremont, we heard a few of Doris’ memories about her family and adventures that she had experienced in that area. We continued driving and got misplaced a couple of times, but chatter and laughter filled the car, and we didn’t care. We found a dam, but I don’t know if it was actually Hardy Dam. We took a look and we were off, again, to find a mom and pop restaurant for a quick lunch. This trip was short, but so special. It was the icing on the cake of our many adventures from the past. We were able to include Kim, on a few of those previous adventures, and that made them even more memorable and outrageously fun.
Goodbye, dear friend Doris.
You will be sorely missed by so many.
Love you, girlfriend.
