Doris Lorraine Cwiakala's Obituary
Doris Deuling Cwiakala passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025. Doris was born to Ben and Marie (Carrier) Deuling on March 30, 1945, in Muskegon, MI and married the love of her life, Albert Cwiakala on August 21, 1965. The two of them enjoyed 19 winters in Florida after her retirement in 2005 from RP Schools as an administrative secretary.
Doris enjoyed working in her yard and taking care of flowers both in Michigan and Florida. She kept busy in Florida volunteering in her Mobile Home Association and her church. She greatly enjoyed touring around and visiting the local sights and just being active. Walking everyday was important and kept her connected to many friends. While in Michigan she treasured time spent with her grandchildren and family. Doris and Al spent many years camping during the summer months at nearby campgrounds. A Saturday night fire and a glass of wine was aways in the plans. She loved her family the Lord above all else.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Marie Deuling and her much loved daughter, Cindy Louise, in 1985. Also preceded by her in-laws, Ed and Rose Cwiakala, her brother, Jim Deuling, sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat and Del Sells, Darlene and Barry McFall, and brother-in-law, John Schafer and nephew Mark Johnson. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Don Kersting and her treasured grandchildren Elizabeth Kersting, Christopher Kersting and Matthew Kersting. Also survived by her sisters Grace Schafer, sister and brother-in-law Judy and Dave Johnson and bonus sister and brother-in-law Agnes and Conrad Nelson. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joe and Linda Cwiakala. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and the children whom she loved dearly. She was blessed to have to very dear friends, “her Karens”, Karen Knowles and Karen Meyers along with many other friends she met along the way during her years in Florida.

A mass of Remembrance will be held at Prince of Peace Church at a later date with visitation preceding the service and a luncheon following in the church multipurpose room after the service.
