Doris E. Ramsey's Obituary
Mrs. Doris E. Ramsey, 82, died early Saturday morning at the Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence. Born Sept. 27, 1926 to William and Marie (Jensen) Workman, she was a life resident of Muskegon. She married Laurin D. Ramsey in 1951, and he survives her. Mrs. Ramsey was a teacher with Mona Shores Schools for 22 years, 17 of which were at Churchill Henry School, and retired in 1986. Her survivors include her husband, Laurin; a daughter, Deborah Ramsey of Plainwell; a son-in-law, Tom Sewell of OK; two granddaughters: Allyson Newton and Jennifer Woodcock of IN; a brother, William (Lois) Workman and sister, Evelyn Workman, both of Muskegon; a sister-in-law, Catherine Lindrup of North Muskegon; and several nieces. She was predeceased by her daughter, Marsha Sewell in 2005; her parents; a brother, Edward Workman; and two sisters: Nellie Bench and Florence Madison. MEMORIAL SERVICES for Mrs. Ramsey will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, Jan. 8th, at The Lee Chapel with Pastor Bill Rudd officiating,and where VISITATION will be from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Poppen House.
