When my husband and I visited my uncle and aunt this summer, I remembered the many times over the years that my parents took me along on a Sunday drive to Floyd and Dot's home, and how welcome we always felt there. Aunt "Dot" was always glad to fix supper for us, to spend time with us even when we dropped in without calling. I found it reassuring to be in that calm and peaceful environment that they had built together over the years, and to hear the stories that Dot loved to tell. Although bedridden, she was still telling stories to us this summer! My parents and I knew that we could rely on Floyd and Dot for any kind of help, and this extended to David and Karla, as they remained in the Spring Lake area, and were such a comfort at the deaths of my parents, offering encouragement to us and practical help. I know that she will be missed greatly by her husband, and all of her children, grand- and great-grandchildren, and I want to send my love to them. I will miss her too!
