Dorothy G. Fielstra's Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy G. Fielstra, age 96, went to see her Lord, Sunday afternoon, December 24, 2006. She was born November 10, 1910 in Grand Rapids, MI to Peter and Jenny (Tell) DeVries and had been a resident of Muskegon most of her life. Mrs. Fielstra was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church where she had belonged to the Friendship Circle, and a former member of the Muskegon Heights Christian Reformed Church where she belonged to the Ladies Guild, the Ladies Aid, was a member of the choir, and a Sunday School Teacher for 50 years. On May 7, 1932 she married Alex L. Fielstra in Muskegon and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2002. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2002. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Marilyn J. (Len) Hartman of Norton Shores, James A. (Viola) Fielstra of North Muskegon; 7 grandchildren, Dr. David Hartman of Grand Rapids, Jennifer Hartman, Dr. Daniel (Dr. Kimberly) Hartman of Brighton, MI, Deanne (David) Gavalis of Plainwell, MI, Debra Pleimling of North Muskegon, Dawn (Dan) Everett of North Muskegon, James (Cathy) Fielstra, Jr. of Spring Lake, John (Marnie) Fielstra of North Muskegon; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard DeVries of Muskegon; several nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Pat Harris. She was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Hailey Marie Everett; brother, Harold DeVries; 2 sisters, Phyllis Medema and Maxine Drukker. SERVICES will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Calvin Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Ron Nyenhuis officiating. Burial will be in Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church. MEMORIALS to the Calvin Christian Reformed Church Family Life Center will be appreciated. Arrangements by
