Great Times at the University of Detroit with Doug Chappell.
Will never forget the good times and laughs we shared.
Always was a pleasure to watch you play basketball for the Titans.
Will never forget you Doug.

No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say good-bye.
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.
Our hearts still ache in sadness,
And secret tears still flow,
What it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know...

Kelly and family, I could go on and talk about how much Doug has meant to me from a basketball stand point, and how much he has helped Oakridge Basketball come back to respectability. Watching Doug and how he Loved his Grand kids (Joslynn, Hallie) was a bigger impact on me. He loved those kids and would do anything for them. I remember the first day Doug brought Joslynn to practice and it made me realize that we can continue to coach and make an impact on other kids lives, and make great memories for our own kids as well. The biggest memory I will have of Doug is for how he would just stop by the house to see how my dad was doing. Or how over the past 9 months as my family was going through hard times, when he saw me it wasn't about Basketball or how he was doing it was always about how is your Dad doing and what can he do to help. Doug was one of the nicest and most caring guys I have ever been around. He has made a huge impact in several people's lives (yours, players, coaches, friends, Kids, and Grandkids) I will never forget how he has impacted my life...

Brent,Brian,Steve, mark and Craig were all great basketball players, but Doug was the best. It was a special honor to be on his team in high school. The memories have lasted a lifetime. My prayers go out to the Chappell family during this difficult time. Bill Jamieson
