Douglas H. Wezeman's Obituary
Douglas H. Wezeman, age 49, of Muskegon and formerly of Nunica went to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 29, 2010. He was born October 29, 1960, in Grand Haven to Alvin and Ann (Ewalt) Wezeman.
Doug served his country in the U.S. Army and previously worked for Holtrop Concrete and VanderWall Bros. He was a student at Muskegon Community College where he was on the President’s List and currently the Dean’s List. He was also a former Cadet leader at Fruitport Christian Reformed Church. Doug enjoyed working on cars, exercising, weight-lifting, cooking, gardening, the out-of-doors, and nature in general.
Survivors include his two daughters, Andrea L. Wezeman of Muskegon and Anna M. Wezeman of Twin Lake; his father and step-mother, Al and Willene Wezeman of Nunica; three sisters: Cheri (Rocky) Sumroo of Spring Lake, Janet (John) Veurink of Grant, and Laura (Timothy) Winters of Grand Haven; a brother, Daniel A. (Mary) Wezeman of Nunica; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; a sister in 1965, and his mother, Ann Wezeman, in 1996.
The service for Doug will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, June 4, 2010, at Fruitport Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Jerry Postema officiating. Friends may meet the family 6-9 PM Thursday, June 3, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Spring Lake. Military rites will be provided by the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28 Honor Guard. Those desiring to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider the educational needs of his daughters, c/o 5/3rd Bank.
