Dear Gretchen & family:
I heard through Mike Whitman that Ed had recently passed. I am saddened by the news but thoughts of your dad/husband brings a smile. I always thought that Ed had the charisma of a movie star and always looked forward to running into him down at the Lake.
Have a blessed holiday season with your family and children, & grandchildren. Love, annie##imported-begin##Anne Raube Simpson##imported-end##

Our deep sympathy to you, Gretchen, and all your family for the loss of your beloved Ed. Though we moved from Spring Lake to Florida in 1974, whenever we returned to S.L. for a visit, we fondly remember those dinner gatherings with you and Ed and friends, as well as good times at the SLYC when we lived in S.L. Don especially remembers starting the S.L. Rotary Club with Ed and the many years together at the Rotary meetings. We both send our love to you, Gretchen, and to your family. May your hearts be consoled, knowing that Ed's soul is in the loving care and peace of our Lord. We treasure our bond over the years with you and Ed. For the past 5 winters we have been living in Sarasota, FL, while we spend the summer and fall months at our North Carolina mountain home. Lovingly, Barb and Don##imported-begin##Don and Barb Bolling##imported-end##
Gretchen, Brent, John, Tom and Rob and your families:
We have been honored to be neighbors, dockmates & patients for these past 22 years. We appreciated Ed's grace, kindness and respect. The friendliness, welcoming and warmth demonstrated by Ed & Gretchen, as well as all the boys, has been one of the blessings of living on Oakwood.
Our hearts and prayers are with you all during this time of sadness and celebration.

Our sincerest condolences to the Garrison family from the Costons. I've had a laptop problem since arriving here in FL two weeks ago having left the morning after John's surprise b-day party.
Like almost everyone else in town, he was my dentist from an early age. He was a good man and passed many strong qualities on to his children and they to theirs. RIP, Ed.##imported-begin##Farrer Coston##imported-end##
On behalf of my wife Maureen and I, we would like to send out our sincerest condolences to all the Garrison Family.
My Father and I were two of the many patients of Dr. Garrisons over the years, and had over the summer discussed w/ Ed that my Father was actually one of his first. After his inquiring as to how long it had been since my Father had passed away, I had felt that day, that he had made it a point to speak fondly of him, and that made quite an impression on me. He took the time to do that, and not everyone does. We had a very nice chat, and unfortunately was the last time I saw him.
Although we may have not gotten to know Edgar as well as most, I will remember him as one of the Old School "Good Guys"; Larger than life, and very proud of his Family and his accomplishments.
Our Thoughts and Prayers are with the Garrison family today.....
Sincerely,
Gary & Maureen Reames##imported-begin##Gary & Maureen Reames##imported-end##
