Mrs. Kurien, and family,
Having learned just this evening (via internet)of Dr. Kuriens passing, I offer my sincerest sympathies. What a special man. I have to say that knowing him the very little I did, I will never forget him. To many conversations the past year to discuss here. A sad day for all,

Dear Susan and family,
I wish words could express what Dr. Kurien meant to me. I have worked with him since 2001. I have been working as an Oncolgy nurse since 1985 but truly learned the most since 2001. Dr. Kurien was an incredible person, doctor, teacher, friend, father and a true child of God. I know that because of his influence, I am a better Oncology nurse. I will always be thankful for him. Please accept my sincere condolences to you all. Denise Schuitema##imported-begin##Denise Schuitema##imported-end##
Oh, Dr. Kurien, how I miss you.
I was so blessed and honored to work with you for 24 fun and intersesting years. I loved your stories, jokes and sense of humor. I loved your commitment to patients and medicine. I loved your faith in God and your Bible challenges that I always lost. You were my mentor and taught me so much about Oncology. You encouraged me to learn and stood by me in the challenges you knew I faced in the last years at Hackley Cancer Center. It's so hard to say good-bye to certain people in your life and you are one of those in my life.
Susan, Aby and and Bobbi,
you are in my thoughts and prayers for comfort and strength in these days when the loss is so fresh. It is my comfort to know that Dr. Kurien is now with Jesus especially on this Christmas day. I long for the day when I,too, can see both of them and others that have gone ahead.
God Bless you.

This is such a loss to our community, he was a wonderful doctor with a big heart for his patients. We used the title "The Good Doctor" in his honor when we referred to him. He was a generous soul, and one of the gentlest, too. I recall the fun in learning one day that he also had an impish sense of humor, when he was pulling my leg about something - oh, the fun that man could have! His mind was amazing, he was tenacious about his calling, he had so many medical connections he could call on for a patient in need. And he was always so humble about the outcomes, he always gave the credit to God for any healing. I believe he truly did walk with God every day. He lived fully each and every day, and never seemed to take life, or health, for granted. He will be missed deeply.##imported-begin##Caroline in Whitehall MI##imported-end##
Doc. Kurien, my heart is still beating because of your love and dedication to Cancer. 2001 my live came to a stand still (so I thought). Breast Cancer-Y Me. Yet, your words of inspiration and knowledge of this disease kept me alive. One Day at a Time(softly spoken).I give thanks to God and credit to you on today. May your family and co-workers find peace/comfort through this storm.##imported-begin##Regina Winston##imported-end##

Dear Susan, Aby, Dhanya, Ruben baby and Bobby:
Myself and my entire family are very saddened by the sudden demise of our beloved Nebu. Several individuals spoke of Nebu at the funeral services as "Humble, simple, caring, loving, excellent physicican etc." To me those words were all putting Nebu very lightly, I have no words to describe Nebu's humbleness or excellence in medical field. My family received the most compassionate and loving care from him for over 33 years. To me Nebu always will get down to the other person's level, when he is with a child, he relates to the child, when he is with a sick, he is the compassionate doctor. Rich or poor were not in his dictionary. He treated everyone with love, care and dignity. In my 33 years as his friends, never heard one single soul speaking of a shortcoming that he had. We all will miss him greatly.
Susan, his absence will be deeply felt in our lives as well as the medical community. We are praying that God will give you and the children enough strength of go on cherishing his memories. We are here if you need anything. You can call me just as you would to your brother for anything I may be able to do. Our love to you all, you need to be strong for that beautiful grandson of yours.
Always in prayer: Kunjumon##imported-begin##T.S. (Dan ) Daniel##imported-end##

W was so saddened to hear of Dr Kurien's unfortunate passing. This is a huge loss for all the families he has taken care of through the years. He treated two of my grandparents, my father and was treating my cousin. I always felt, if myself or my children needed treatment, we would return to Muskegon to see him. He has helped so many and was so good at what he did. He will be missed by my entire family. Thank you, Dr Kurien, for your expertise and your caring ways. Our prayers go out to your family.
