Duane A. "Dewey" Landheer's Obituary
Duane Allen Landheer, age 47, passed away at home following a courageous battle with A.L.S. Duane was born in Fremont on October 19, 1962 to Robert and Myrna (Poll) Landheer. Duane attended Fremont Christian School and was a graduate of Fremont H.S. He was a graduate of I.T.T. Tech. and was employed as a custom machine builder at Highlight Industries in Grand Rapids. Dewey loved hunting, fishing, gardening and riding his Harley Davidson. He was a member of the Fruitport Eagles, the Muskegon Hog Chapter and was a founding member of the Grand Rapids Radio R.C. Truck Pulling Association. He is survived by his: daughter, Lisa Franks of Ohio and granddaughter, Breonna; his parents, Robert and Myrna Landheer of Grand Rapids; three sisters, Patty (Carl) Walcott of Grand Rapids, Karen (Jim) Dokter of Saugatuck and Cheryl (Steve) Tomasko of Rockford, MI; his companion, Vicki Newhouse and her three children and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at: The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 4:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 11, 2010. The family will begin greeting guests at 3:00 P.M. Memorial Contributions: Hospice of Michigan.
