Edmund Emlaw was my favorite uncle and I loved him like my own father. To me, he was a man without fault. He was kind, gentle, thoughtful, and always put others before himself. Many times he came to my rescue: picking me up from accidents, constructing elaborate decorations for my high school dance, teaching me to drive a stick shift, and always welcoming me with a big smile and wide open arms.
One Christmas I asked him to build a doll house for my daughter, Ellen. He poured himself into the project and constructed a detailed masterpiece. Everything he did for others was a 110% effort...an expression of his unconditional love and devotion to his friends and family.
I can think of no one else in my life who is remembered more kindly. I cannot remember one negative experience or a single bad word or deed this man ever said or did. He was a giant among men, and even with the times he greeted me with a swoop into the air and a visit to the ceiling (many, many, many years ago!), I will keep him in my heart forever.##imported-begin##Lynne Karagoulis##imported-end##
