Eddie was the greatest! He always remembered me and my family every summer I came to Camp Pendelouan. I always loved "hikes with Eddie to Sleepy Hollow" He was a great asset to camp and I am sure will be missed by many!!##imported-begin##Lara Wolf##imported-end##
On behalf of my late husband, Joel and myself, I wish to express my heart-felt condolences to Eddie's family. He is very much a part of what we all enjoyed about camp. I loved looking through the old pictures and hearing his stories about the people in them. I know Joel had a special place in his heart for Eddie and I can imagine them now enjoying a camp coucil fire together. camp will not be the same without this wonderful man.
God Bless
Sincerely

My Uncle Eddie always was such a special man. My brother Ron and I were always so proud that the almost mythical Eddie Boersema was our uncle, so famous for Sleepy Hollow stories and a fixture at the Y camp. Two weeks ago I drove by the home town of his parents, Meeden, in Northern Netherlands and thought of my Boersema family roots and his parents Cornelius and Beuke (Klein) Boersema. Greetings to my Boersema relatives as we remember this kind man, for many of us "Uncle Eddie."##imported-begin##Tom Holmes##imported-end##
Some of my fondest memories of Camp P are hearing of how Eddie climbed the fire tower and his other youthful adventures. It was fun to hear him tell stories of what my dad was like when he was a camper there.
I know he's telling Sleepy Hollow stories around a campfire in Heaven.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Sleep well, old friend. I hope tonight that heaven is full of campfire smoke and children singing.##imported-begin##Andrew Hill##imported-end##
Ever since I was a little girl I came to know my Great Uncle Eddie as a kind and gentle man. My fondest memory of him was at age the age of five.. I was visiting his Mother, my Great Grandmother and having had a bowl of his chicken noodle soup and twinkies.. I told him that his choice of food was my 'favorite food' and I had really enjoyed eating it! Years later I learned how loyal and caring he was to his mother in her widowed years. I only heard kind things about our Uncle Eddie through out the years to come. At family gatherings he would be there, tall and fair..soft spoken. One time when I was about 12 years old at a family reunion...he asked me what had happened to my blond hair? Time had changed it to brown and it surprised him. But time did not change his wonderful personality and ways. He was always Uncle Eddie to us all. We will miss him.##imported-begin##Mary Anderson Ballard##imported-end##
I was a camp counselor from 1977-1982 with Eddie. I will always remember his stories and his pictures and films he had of camp. He was a very special person and touched many lives. May he rest in peace. God bless Eddie##imported-begin##Shelly Hegedus Reilly##imported-end##
Iam very sad to have lost my dear Uncle Eddie. It has been a life long pleasure, to have had him as my Uncle. Considering his age, he gave us all many years, and I wish for him, the best now possible, with God and other dear family members. Love, Betty##imported-begin##Betty Wheeler Boot##imported-end##
