Edward Eddie Gradisher's Obituary
Edward (Ed) Joseph Gradisher, 62, was born December 29, 1954 to Joseph J. and Agnes “Nancy” (Howat) Gradisher in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. He was a 1973 graduate of Muskegon High School, and had been employed by Brenneman Inc., Kaydon Corp. and finally Knoll Inc. before retiring. He was a member of the Muskegon Eagles Aerie 668 for many years and was an active member of the Lakeside Veterans Club. Ed was a special uncle to several nieces and nephews. They could climb all over when they were little and he would follow their sports when they were in school, and respected them when they were adults. He loved playing baseball as a youth and softball as an adult. He briefly coached Muskegon Big Red JV Baseball, volunteered with the Muskegon Big Red football team during the Dave Taylor coaching era, and followed the Big Red football team through the 2016 season. Ed followed the local hockey program from the Zephyrs to the Mohawks to the Lumberjacks. He loved tailgating with family and friends for Michigan Football, he bowled and played golf for many years, and he loved to gamble. Survivors include his sister and brothers, Robert (Alice) Gradisher of Grayson, GA, Duane (Monica) Gradisher of Stanwood, MI, Mary A. Knoll of Newaygo, MI, Joe (Bonnie Orr) Gradisher of Alexandria, VA; several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, sisters, and brother, Sharon, Christine and Roy Gradisher; brother-in-law, Dennis Knoll; and niece Lisa Gradisher. A time to remember and celebrate Ed’s life will be Wednesday, January 18, from 2-5 PM at the Lakeside Veterans Club, 1777 Lakeshore Dr. A private family interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. You may visit the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com. Contributions in memory of Ed may be made to Hospice of Michigan or the Susan P. Wheatlake Regional Cancer Center in Reed City. The journey is what matters and what one does along the way. And it is not that he succeeds or fails, only that he has lived proudly, with honor and respect. Eddie did it his way. He passed peacefully on January 14, 2017. Arrangements by The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565
