My most memorable recall of Ed happened many years ago. My husband Bob had by-pass heart surgery. It was at that time of the year that Bob would get on his tractor and smooth out our long gravel driveway. That year, of course, he wasn't able to. So Ed, apparently knowing Bob's routine of working on our driveway, got on his tractor, drove over to our house, and did the repair work on our driveway. He then left; he did not stick around looking for a thank you as he was not looking for that. He only wanted to be hellpful. What a neighborly gesture! What a kind man! I was deeply saddened at the passing of Uncle Ed. I was fortunate enough to not only have him as an uncle, but to work along side him for a period of time and to do a bit of bowling with him. He had a great sense of humor (except when Eddie and I darned near burned the chicken coup down). He will be missed by all who knew him. Chuck and Audrey I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. It's been years sinse I have spoken with Ed. But I will never forget the years I worked with him at Johnsons. He was a awesome man. He Taught me a few things back when I was a snot nosed know it all kid. Like "RESPECT" He will be dearly missed I am sure. You and your families are in my prayer's.
