Edward J. "Ed" Kuharevicz's Obituary
Mr. Edward J. Kuharevicz, age 87, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 8, 2009 at a local care home following a short illness. Ed was born on June 2, 1921 in Fruitport Twp. the 5th of 10 children to Michael J. and Sophia (Kendra) Kuharevicz. Ed was a life long resident of Fruitport and was a member of the Fruitport Eagles Aerie # 3666 where he was a former Trustee and Secretary. He was also a Golden Eagle. Mr. Kuharevicz was a former independent milk hauler and was employed at Johnson Mold Technology for 20+ years retiring in 1986. He was former Secretary of I.A.M. Local 670. Ed enjoyed gardening and for many years grew and sold Christmas-Trees from their property on Dangl Rd. in Fruitport. On November 10, 1951 he married the former Phylis Cabot-Poulin and she survives him along with: two sons, Edward (Kim) Kuharevicz and Charles (Susan) Kuharevicz both of Fruitport; two daughters, Patricia (Gilbert Redzinski) Kuharevicz of Sand Lake and Audrey (Brian) Stromberg of Cloverville; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Kevin, Kyle, Amy, Lindsay, Kendall and Haley; 3 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Avree and Jorja; two brothers, Richard and Robert (Phyllis) Kuharevicz and one sister, Rita (Clair) Rederstorf. The funeral service will be held at: The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100, 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 12, 2009, Pastor Don Wood officiating. Visitation: Wednesday, 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. He will be laid to rest in Fruitport Cemetery. Memorial: Muskegon Rescue Mission.
