Edwin “Ed” Arthur Reschke, age 84, passed away in Fruitport, MI, on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Ed was born on March 6, 1939, in Chicago, IL, to his parents Reynold and Hulda (Lucht) Reschke. Ed grew up in Chicago and graduated from Read Obituary
I only found out today of Ed's passing.
We never met, but I've used many of his amazing photographs in the anatomy and physiology textbooks that I author. I was telling my new coauthors just this morning about how his science photos clearly demonstrate a "teacher's eye" for what students need to learn.
Condolences to Ed's friends and family. His amazing work surely will help many more thousands of learners far into the future.

As a colleague of Ed's at MCC I always appreciated is sparkling smile, friendly words, and support for other programs, especially those in the "softer" departments like English, Philosophy, and the Arts.
Ed was definitely like family to me! He was my mom and dad’s best man at their wedding and their strong bond allowed us to be good friends with Steve and Jerry. I have fond memories of enjoying nature together and learning a lot from Ed. A funny memory was when Ed would get his slides out to share with us when we’d come out to Michigan for a visit and his kiddos would say…”not all the carousels, dad!” But we loved hearing all about his adventures as the stories were new to us. I’ll never forget the infamous canoe trip! I prefer bigger boats now! May Ed rest in paradise and continue to wow his friends and family with his many stories of travel and adventures. Ed was a great member of the MCC Biology Dept. Quiet, soft spoken & sincere, he fit in as a member of the college family. Years pass but fond memories linger. I pray peace be with his family.
I taught with Ed for almost twenty years in the Life Science Department at Muskegon Community College. He was a fine photographer and a good friend.
I know Ed when I came to MCC in 1997. He was a wonderful person to talk to various aspects of life. As life science department was one floor down from the math-science department, we used to meet often in the MCC campus. He will be missed. Rest in peace, Ed.
