Edwin W. Westin's Obituary
Mr. Edwin Wilhelm Westin, age 64, died unexpectedly Friday, November 14, 2008, in his deer blind located in McMillan Twp, Luce County, Upper Peninsula, Michigan. Ed was born July 15, 1944 in Muskegon to Edwin Vilhelm and Evelyn (Veltman) Westin and had been a life resident of the area, graduating from Muskegon High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Michigan National Guard. Ed retired in 1995 as a police officer for the City of Norton Shores, where had been employed over 27 years. Following his retirement he became a security officer for Mona Shores High School; and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a member of F.O.P. Lodge #99. SURVIVORS include his life partner and best friend, Cindy Erickson, 2 daughters, Angela Perysian of Norton Shores and Amanda (Eric) Beishuizen of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Justin Flores, Carley Perysian, Brendan and Colby Beishuizen; 1 great-granddaughter, Lydia Flores and by his special friends, Rosalie and Joe Morden of Norton Shores and Darold and Barb Steinman of Muskegon. SERVICES will be 11 AM Tuesday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey Street 231-798-1100. Burial will be in Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION with Ed’s family will be 3-5 and 7-9PM Monday. For a more lasting memorial you are asked to consider the Kidney Foundation.
