Elden J. Christiansen's Obituary
Elden J. Christiansen, age 82, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 27, 2025. He was born on May 7, 1942, in Muskegon to Harry and Margaret (Raffie) Christiansen and was a life resident of the area.
Elden dedicated 53 years of service to Amstore in Grand Rapids. Throughout his life he and his wife taught Sunday School and Children’s Church. Most recently, he was a devoted member of Wolf Lake Community Church. Elden was deeply involved in the lives of his grandchildren, creating countless cherished memories. Known for his storytelling, he had a gift for sharing both facts and tall tales. He had a passion for hunting and baseball, was an avid hockey player for many years, and loved watching Westerns—especially those starring John Wayne.
On October 1, 1965 he married the former Nancy Lynn Oosterhart, and they were married for nearly 60 years together.
SURVIVORS include his wife, Nancy; sons: Matthew (Denise) Christiansen and Andrew Christiansen; three grandchildren: Jeremy, Jessica, and Kristina; brother, Claude (Sandy) Christiansen; and sister-in-law, Barbara Christiansen. Elden was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angela Marie Christiansen; and two brothers, Ralph and Gary Christiansen.
A Celebration of Life for Elden will be at 11 AM Saturday, May 10, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. Memorial Contributions in Elden’s name to Wolf Lake Community Church will be appreciated.
