Eleanor I. Daniels' Obituary
Eleanor Ida Daniels, the much-loved matriarch of her family went to be with Jesus Christ, her beloved Savior on March 8, 2025. She was the daughter of Harold Kenneth Carvey and Catherine (Barsema) Carvey, and she lived a long and beautiful life of nearly 99 years, being born on April 16, 1926.
Eleanor was an amazing mother to her seven children who are grateful for all they experienced and learned from her. Celebrating her life are her children, Judi (Bob) Keim, Nancy Friday, Sherry (Mike) McKeown, Dave (Anita) Daniels, Michelle Shaffner, Kathy (Mike) Jawor and Eric (Anna Tumarkin) Daniels. She celebrated each new addition to the family having 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ken (Joyce) Carvey; sister-in-law, Jan Carvey; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bob Carvey and Larry Carvey; sister-in-law, Carol Carvey; son-in-law, Richard Friday; grandsons, Stephen and Colin McKeown; and father of her children, Paul Daniels.
While raising her children, she served in her church, Lakeside UMC in the Women’s Society as a contributing member, in leadership and in many capacities that were needed.
At a point, Eleanor worked for Muskegon Public School in several schools as an administrative assistant where she served with dedication and efficiency. She made many lifelong friends in her church and the schools.
Eleanor loved to play Scrabble and read. She also was a wonderful hostess, entertaining her guests with quiet elegance and grace.
The Celebration of Eleanor’s life will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at her church, Lake Harbor United Methodist, 4861 Henry St., Norton Shores, MI 49441, visitation with the family will be held one-hour prior. Officiating will be Pastors Mary Ivanov and son-in-law, Bob Keim.
