So sorry to hear of Eleanor's passing. I worked with her on nights at Muskegon General Hospital in the early 70's. She was a warm and caring nurse who gave wonderful care to her patients. She was always a peaceful presence on the unit. My prayers are for her and her family during this time.

My Grandmother went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday morning. The Lord blessed her with 97 years on this earth!
Grandma had an amazing way of looking at the positive in every situation. When I was young, I spent a lot of time with my Grandma. We played games, gardened, and went for walks, some of my favorite things I enjoy today.
When I was a toddler, I was given a beautiful small hammer! I must have thought all grandma's furniture needed repairs and banged and scratched different pieces. Needless to say, I lost my hammer until high school graduation. She took naps on the davenport aka "couch" during the day. She always strategically placed her glasses under the couch. Yup, One day, I stepped on her glasses and broke them.
Tuesday, My grandmother, suffered a heart-attack. As I went to the hospital, she was unresponsive. By the afternoon, she was doing her best to communicate and talk. I was able to hold her hand one last time and say, "I love you, Grandma!" Her reply, "I love you too."
Tomorrow, I say goodbye to more than just my grandma but part of my history. Grandma is my last biological grandparent and the last part of Grandpa Heiss. I say goodbye to her home, the pictures, the part of me that seemed to make a crazy world all ok when I entered it.
May you enjoy the fruits of a well-lived life in Heaven. Until we meet again.
