Dear Pete, I am deeply saddened by the loss of your mom, and really did plan to be there with all of you this week but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We did have a great chat on her birthday, but I sure would have loved to see her and give her a hug one last time. She was one of the most thoughtful and caring people that I know. She always put flowers on all of the graves every Memorial Day and told me that she would include Nellie this year. That meant so much to me. No one will be able to replace her. She always made me laugh, and somehow through her I felt connected to everyone else in the family. I'm sure you know this, but she was so proud of you and your family. She really appreciated all that you did for her. I wish that I could have seen all of you. My prayers are with you. I know everyone's experiences are diffferent, but I have a pretty good idea of what it's like to lose a parent. We can only be thankful that we had them for as many years as we did, cherish the memories, and look forward to being with them in Heaven.
