Elizabeth Derouin's Obituary
Mrs. Elizabeth Lucille Derouin, age 81, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2006, at a local hospital. Betty was born April 29,1925 to Stephen and Lucille (Cleveland) Bellinger in Muskegon. She married John A. Derouin in 1957 in Angola, Indiana. John preceded her in death on June 28, 1993. Betty was employed at American Coil Spring as a machine operator for more than 20 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and had recently attended St. Michael Catholic Church. Mrs. Derouin served as a board member for Muskegon Area Diabetes Education and Support Group. Betty was a member of the Polish Falcon Club, the Polish Union Lodge, and the Pulaski Lodge. She enjoyed being with her friends, helping those in need, cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, and playing dominos with her grandchildren. Betty is survived by her son, Peter (Anne) Derouin of Raleigh, N.C.; 2 granddaughters, Paige and Eleanor Derouin; 2 brothers, Charles V. Bellinger of Muskegon and Phillip S. Bellinger of South Gate, CA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Clark; and 3 brothers, Stephen C. Bellinger, Pete H. Bellinger, and George E. Bellinger. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held 1PM Thursday, May 18, 2006, at St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Father Jim Wyse presiding. Burial will be made in St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION will be 5-8 PM Wednesday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 231-759-8565. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
