Elizabeth "Bertha" Fisher's Obituary
Mrs. Elizabeth “Bertha” Fisher, age 104, died Wednesday evening, March 14, 2007. She was born August 20, 1902 in Ede, The Netherlands to Dirk and Willemina (Roseboom) VanZanten and had lived in the Muskegon area since 1946. Mrs. Fisher was a Realtor for 12 years and spent 10 years as a custodian at Jolman School. She was a member of Olivet Evangelical Free Church and the VFW Post 3195 Auxiliary. On July 11, 1951 she married Edward R. Fisher in Muskegon and he preceded her in death. SURVIVORS include a son-in-law, Gary Vanderstelt; daughter-in-law, Johanna VanKekerix-Watkins; 8 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Morris (Monica) VanZanten of Muskegon; and a sister, Berdean (Stone) Wright of Muskegon. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Wilma Vanderstelt; son, Rev. Jack VanKekerix; 3 brothers, William, Ben, and Dirk VanZanten; and 5 sisters, Willemina Hinman, Eliza Brimmer, Katherine Williams, Gertrude Harjer, and Nellie Bultema. GRAVESIDE SERVICES will be held 11:30 AM Friday, March 23, 2007 at Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Rev. Curt Vanderstelt officiating. There will be no visitation.
