Aunt Ellen was one of the sweetest women you'd ever hoped to meet. It was always a joy to see her at my grandparents home when our families would often gather on Sundays and holidays. Christmas was especially memorable as she played the piano and led the family in singing Christmas Carols. Aunt Ellen always had warm hugs with a big smile. She always made me feel special. I treasured our visits as I was fascinated when she shared her vast knowledge of our
family history and history of our country.
Several years ago I had a special telephone conversation with Aunt Ellen. A week later I was pleasantly surprised to find in my mailbox, she had sent me some copies of old family photos with notes she had written in her beautiful handwriting. I treasure her love and kindness always. Scott Gibson (loving nephew)
